Can Cook was set up in 2007 as a food organisation working with people living in South Liverpool who didn’t have basic cookery skills. We have since expanded across the Liverpool City Region to provided over 15,000 people with cookery training, enabling them to prepare fresh meals at home.
Developing our business model, we started a catering for schools, nurseries and care homes. We specialise in the provision of fresh meals for children and older people, and primarily provide services specific to these age groups.
At Can Cook, we believe that everybody should be able to access good fresh food regardless of income. We also use our operations to tackle food poverty and create employment, donating fresh food to people in food crisis and creating living wage jobs along the way. Read more here..
We are a committed Living Wage employer, meaning that all of our staff are paid a minimum of £9.00 per hour, the rate set by the Living Wage Foundation. This rate is calculated to provide people with a decent living standard. Paying the Living Wage is critical to our business.
