Maray Restaurants were founded by James Bates, Dominic Jones and Thomas White back in 2014; 3 friends with a passion for bringing the exquisite dining experiences of Paris’ Le Marais to the streets of Liverpool City Centre. Their leap of faith paid off, and Maray is now famed in Liverpool and beyond for exceptional food, cocktails and service – their disco cauliflower has a fanbase of its own! Their flagship restaurant, nestled in the heart of Bold Street, went from strength to strength, receiving rave reviews from tough food critics including the Guardian’s Jay Rayner. In 2016 they expanded and opened their second site on the much loved, Allerton Road.
Tom, James and Dom don’t just have a passion for serving great food at their restaurants, they also share our passion for ensuring that everybody – regardless of circumstances – is able to access good, fresh food. In 2016, the trio partnered with our Share Your Lunch campaign via their two restaurants, adding a donation of 50p on to the bill of each table, helping us to raise vital funds and spreading the word about good food for everybody.
Support from local businesses, such as Maray, allow us to respond to hunger more quickly and to plan ahead, supporting people for longer periods of time until they are through their crisis.
If you’d like to join in their fundraising efforts, enjoy some good food while providing essential, good food for others, visit Maray at one of their sites (details below), we recommend the cauliflower and the falafel sharer!
